Tuesday, October 23 to Friday, October 26
Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building, 80 Queen's Park
80 Queen's Park

Join us for a week-long journey through the monumental St. John Passion, BWV 245. World-renowned Bach specialist Helmuth Rilling leads audiences, soloists, orchestra, and the Bach Academy Choir to new daily discoveries.

Musicologists, theologians, scholars and performers debate the work’s inherent mysteries with William Littler. Witness the magic of this music in action by attending the Dicovery Series afternoons at the Festival, where open rehearsals, conducting master classes with Helmuth Rilling, vocal master classes on Passion arias and recitatives, and world-class music is made every day. Audiences take part in the creative process and get the performer’s perspective! Every evening this week, Daniel Taylor, Derek Chester, Nicholas Isherwood, Agnes Zsigovics, and Peter McGillivray take the stage to perform and mentor emerging Canadian artists. All events are in Walter Hall, at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music.
